Location: Hacienda Cusin is near the village of San Pablo del Lago, about 15 minutes from the market town of Otavalo.

Rooms: The guest rooms are individually decorated and are furnished and feature locally-made textiles, handicrafts and antiques. The rooms have windows looking out onto either the gardens or mountains and have a fireplace or heater, for welcome warmth on cooler days and evenings. They are all en-suite. Some of the rooms are in the main building and others are self-contained cottages in the gardens. The latter are well suited to honeymooners or people wanting a little more privacy.

Activities: Guests can explore the several acres of gardens where a selection of animals live, including llamas, peacocks, rabbits and horses. The birdlife is prolific. There is a self-guided tour of the property guests can take. They also have access to basketball and volleyball courts. Horse riding and mountain biking are also available - to be arranged and paid for locally.

Facilities: The dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a private dining room for up to 12 guests. Barbeques and picnics are served on the main lawn. The hacienda has a games room for billiards, darts and ping pong and various board games, a lounge and a library with DVDs and videos for guest use. There is a small gift shop.

Dining: Meals are taken at individual tables.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome. Children under 5 years of age stay free of charge when sharing a room with adults.

Health: Hacienda Cusin is not in a malarial area.

Communication: There is free Wi-Fi internet access.
