Rooms: There are 14 twin/double rooms and 2 family chalets, all built from the stone and thatch. The family chalets can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children in 2 bedrooms. All rooms are en-suite with a shower, hand basin and flush toilet. Hot water from a wood burning stove is supplied on request. All rooms have bedside tables and lamps, a writing desk, tea and coffee making facilities and a private covered deck at the front.

Activities: Scenic drives in the morning and afternoon on the Etendeka Plateau where you may see varied wildlife. Take a guided walk (morning or afternoon) of about 2 hours on the Etendeka Plateau to learn about its history, geology, plant and animal life. Go on a day’s elephant tracking with a guide and tracker in search of the desert-adapted elephant, with a picnic lunch and the chance to learn about the lives of the local Damara people as well. Black rhino tracking takes place initially in safari vehicles to locate the animals and then on foot. This is a full day activity that includes lunch. You can visit a Himba village for an insight into their way of life and to meet and, with the help of an interpreter-guide, talk to different individuals. This is a half day excursion. Bird watching walks can be arranged.

Facilities: The main builiding houses the lounge, bar and restaurant which has an open fire for colder days and a terrace for warmer ones. There is a small drinks station providing free tea and coffee throughout the day. Steps from the terrace lead to the outdoor swimming pool. Massages can be arranged in a small room by the pool. Battery charging facilities are available in the main area. There is a laundry service, pay locally. Grootberg provides secure car parking. Power is supplied by a generator.

Dining: Meals are eaten at individual tables in the restaurant and on the covered deck.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome. Those under 6 years stay free when sharing a room with parents. Children taking part in activities need to be kept under their parents' supervision at all times, and those under 12 pay half price for activities. The minimum age for rhino tracking and guided walks is 12 years.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is free Wi-Fi internet access in the main area, the restaurant and terrace.
