Gaun Ghar

Open: All year.

Location: The hotel is located on the main street in the hill town of Bandipur, part way between Kathmandu and Pokhara, both about a 3 hour drive away. The hotel is a traditional village house that has been thoughtfully restored and converted for guest use, whilst retaining its traditional features and atmosphere.

Rooms: Guests are accommodated in 15 rooms all with en-suite bathrooms and views of the mountains. The rooms are simply furnished, in local Newari style.

Activities: Exploring the town of Bandipur with its bazaar and temples and traditional Newari architecture. The hotel can arrange guided sightseeing on request. Guests can also explore neighbouring villages and go hiking.

Facilities: The hotel has a cafe and a restaurant serving western as well as local dishes. Meals can eaten inside or out on the small terrace with views of the mountains, weather permitting. The hotel sometimes experiences power cuts, but provides torches in the bedrooms.

Dining: Meals are taken communally or at individual tables.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome.

Health: This is not a malarial area.

Communication: There is no internet access.
