One of the few good quality hotels located on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi, the Ganges View overlooks Assi Ghat at the point where the river Asi joins the sacred river. This heritage hotel was opened in 1990 when the private residence of the Singh family from Bihar who built Assi Ghat and its temple was transformed into a hotel.

The Ganges View retains a classic atmosphere, with marble floors and walls decorated with local paintings. The rooms are simple, but feature antique furnishings with each room individually decorated. Several terraces provide a peaceful place to escape from the chaos of Varanasi's streets and enjoy the river view. While not a luxury property, this is one of Varanasi's best located and most characterful hotels, and its 16 rooms are frequently booked out.
