Fumba Beach Lodge
Zanzibar Tanzania
Tribes Style: Mid Range
A lovely resort for a few days chilling out at the end of our trip, nicely self contained in its walled and gated grounds. We had a room looking straight out to sea and steps down straight into the ocean when the tide was in. Fabulous. Good restaurant and service. Loved seeing the elephant shrews!

Superb...unfound resort away from the touristy crowd even though exceptionally busy you never felt overwhelmed by people. Just the right size and you are able to interact with everyone. Superb accommodation (esp since upgraded to beach front) , superb sea & pool , superb meals and superb staff , managers and owners .. Nothing to not love..

Lovely setting, friendly staff and tasty food. A great place to relax after the safari. The snorkelling excursion was a fun experience and staffed by a great crew (who looked after our youngest very well when he was unwell) but we thought the trip pricey (US$50 per person) and the sights less impressive than we had expected.

here too, only a handful of people!! AND on arrival we were given adjoining rooms at no extra cost...fab! always tricky returning somewhere you've enjoyed but Fumba hasn't changed! It is a bit shabby but not enough to notice if you know what I mean. Lovely staff.

We had been to Fumba before and found it exactly the same! We like it because it's quiet and the staff and service are excellent. We had a whole day dhow trip for Penny's birthday and I tried snorkelling for the first time and found I was pretty rubbish at it but it was great fun. However, we had to walk from the boat on our return to the beach at Fumba and Pennny trod on a sea urchin which went through her boat shoe - so, clients be warned that you need sturdy sandals or a boat shoe with a thick sole if you do a dhow trip!
