Farm 215

Open: Year round. 

Location: In the Uikraal Valley in the heart of the unspoiled Overberg region. The farm is just a 2 hour drive from Cape Town (slightly longer if taking the scenic coast road) near the fishing town of Gansbaai. 

Rooms: 3 en-suite rooms in the main old homestead and 3 fynbos suites in a separate building. Rooms in the homestead have a private balcony or terrace. The suites are large and modern with huge glass sliding doors at the front opening onto a covered wooden deck. Each has a bedroom, bathroom and lounge. All 6 rooms have tea and coffee makers, cd players and ceiling fans

Activities: Guided walking and hiking trails, horse riding (rides from an hour to several days over varied terrain from beach to mountain - book in advance), and 4x4 trails and spa treatments are all available from the lodge. Further afield you can go whale-watching, shark-cage diving, scuba diving and days excursions to local towns, museums and vineyards.

Facilities: The main areas are connected by a wooden boardwalk which leads to the lounges and dining area, a sun-deck overlooking the 25m lap pool, a shaded courtyard, all of which is set in semi-wild indigenous gardens. The farm has a large collection of books which you are welcome to browse through. There are no TVs at Farm 215. 

Dining: Meals are served in the restaurant which has panoramic views over Lake Kraaiboschdam, the surrounding vineyards and the Overberg Mountains in the distance. All produce is sourced locally and much of it is organic. Wines come from 4 local estates.

Children: The hotel welcomes children of 12 years old and over. Special requests will be considered.

Health: This is a non-malarial area. 

Communication: There is good mobile reception, phone and fax access at reception (local charges apply) and complimentary internet.
