A simple lodge on the edge of Bwindi Forest which makes a good value base from which to trek to see the gorillas.
Engagi Lodge in on the edge of Buhoma village by Bwindi National Park in Uganda. There are 8 en-suite cottages spread out in the lush indigenous plantlife. There are twin or double rooms with verandahs looking out to the forest.
This is not a luxury lodge, so the rooms are quite simple with little in the way of decor or styling, but they have all you need - beds (with hot water bottles if it's cold - which it often can be here!), a flush loo and a hot shower provided by a wood-burning boiler. Lighting (provided by solar and a backup generator) is bit on the dim side, so we'd recommend you have a torch here.
The main public area is an attractive building including a large thatched dining room/bar and lounge. It is open to show views out to the forest.
Meals are satisfactory rather than special, but at least offered with enthusiasm and a friendly face.
