Well worth making the long trip to reach, El Remanso offered superb accommodation in the rainforest with plenty of wildlife, particularly monkeys, toucans and macaws. Our garden view room was very spacious, and the restaurant/lounge area had lovely views with surrounding vegetation attracting much birdlife. There were walking trails around the property on which guided walks could be taken. There was a steep path down to a deserted sandy beach below, complete with rock pools and a lagoon given the right tidal conditions. The staff were very friendly and interacted well. The food was very good and varied.

Oh my goodness, what a magical place and the top highlight of our holiday. Our bedroom (a cabin) was fabulous as it was surrounded by rain forest. We did all of the treks within the Lodge's estate - some were more challenging that others but all provided a great experience of the rain forest and its wildlife. The food was superb, staff friendly and the guides hugely knowledgeable.

What can I say, that has not been said before, superb, superb, superb. The large room with it's view of the Pacific Ocean overlooking the small pool, The intimate atmosphere created by the owners with their hands on approach was exceptional. The food was of a high quality, although we felt the ordering of our meal ahead of time, I.e at Breakfast for Lunch, I.e. at Lunch for Dinner was not necessary. But that is a small grumble.The staff had been trained to a very high standard with emphasis on personal interaction with their guests.
