Open:  El Balcon is open all year.

Location:  El Balcon is on Tambo de Montero, 3 blocks from the main Plaza de Armas in Cusco. It is built at the top of Inca terraces, some of which you can see in the garden.  

Rooms:  There are 17 rooms, divided among 2 buildings. All have private bathrooms with 24 hour hot water, toiletries and towels. The beds are custom-made and extra length with linen sheets, feather pillows, wool and alpaca blankets. All rooms have IDD phone, free Wi-Fi and heater, and 2 of the rooms have TVs. There are twin and double rooms, a family suite with 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds and private balcony, and a balcony suite with a queen bed and wrap-around balcony. Ground floor rooms look out into the gardens and upper floor rooms have balconies. Extra beds are available on request.

Activities:  Walk the 5 minutes to the main square, Plaza de Armas, for sightseeing and shopping. Staff can arrange excursions within the city and further afield including into the Sacred Valley, including hiking, biking, horse riding and rafting trips, plus tours to market towns and to Machu Picchu.  

Facilities:  The small garden is set on several levels and features Inca walls as well as flowers and trees, and has benches where you sit and relax. Guests can browse and buy locally-made textiles while at the hotel. Reception is staffed 24 hours a day. The hotel offers a complimentary luggage storage service and a same-day laundry service (pay locally). There is a breakfast and dining room (see below).

Dining:  A buffet breakfast is eaten at individual tables in the breakfast room, served from 4am till 10:30am, and is included in the room rate. This consists of fresh orange juice, coffee, cooked eggs, yoghurt, granola, avocado, tomato, toast and home-made jams. Dinner is available from 6pm to 9pm on request, pay locally. There is a hot drinks station where you can help yourself to coffee and coca leaf tea.

Children:  Children of all ages are welcome. 

Health:  Cusco is a non-malarial area.

Communication:  There is free Wi-Fi internet access in guest rooms and public areas, and a computer for guest use in the lobby.
