Okavango Delta Botswana

  • Explore an area rich in wildlife

  • Sleep in spacious and luxurious surroundings
  • Magnificent views onto the open floodplains
  • Excellent meals accompanied by superb wines
  • Quality guiding and friendly staff

After undergoing a complete rebuild, Duba Plains re-opened in March 2017.  There are just 5 bespoke luxury tents and a 2 bedroom suite, the Duba Plains Suite.  All tents are built on raised decking with views of the surrounding floodplain, the perfect vantage point for observing the wildlife of the area. The spacious tents have a lounge area which is also a nice spot for a private dinner, or you could opt for the deck of your private veranda which also houses the plunge pool and day-bed area. The en-suite bathroom has a flush loo, double basins, a luxurious bathtub and indoor as well as outdoor showers. The tents are classically furnished evoking the style and elegance of a safari of the 1920s with tastefully chosen accessories and rugs adorning the polished wooden floors throughout.

The main area consists of a raised dining room along with a comfortable lounge that also has private dining nooks. There is a well-stocked wine cellar and a library. Guests can spend time in the main areas in privacy or they can mingle with other guests, a popular congregating spot is the fireplace, which is located on an extended piece of deck.

Client Rating for Botswana 5/5 from 120 reviews

Hard to believe we were staying at a temporary camp. All the tents are situated overlooking water where herons, storks and the occasional elephant visit. These are really well spaced and so you have no knowledge that your neighbours are around. While Selinda uses refillable metal water bottles, unfortunately Duba Plains uses plastic bottled water, something that could be improved. Food was excellent, three main course options and flexible timings.
