Open: Delta Dunes Lodge is open all year round.  

Location:  Delta Dunes Lodge is midway between Malindi and Lamu on the Kenya coast, at the mouth of the Tana River. It is on the top of high sand dunes. The lodge can be reached by a 2.5 hour drive from Malindi airport followed by a 20 minute boat ride.

Rooms:  There are 7 open-fronted cottages built from driftwood. They have Swahili beds, en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot water showers, and private verandas with views of either the Tana River or the ocean. The family cottage has room to sleep up to 5 people. In each cottage there is a beach basket with kikoi wraps and pillows for use on the beach.  Cottages are spaced well apart for privacy.   

Activities  Race sand yachts, go kayaking in the creeks, go wake boarding in the delta, take a walking safari, go birdwatching, take walks along the beach, swim in the pool, take river cruises and have cocktails on the beach. Fishing, sailing, windsurfing, surfing and waterskiing are also possible. You can meet Tana River tribespeople.  

Facilities:   The main lodge building is on 2 storeys. Downstairs you find the reception, gift shop and massage area, upstairs is the restaurant with an outdoor deck, spacious lounge and bar. Fish and seafood feature prominently on the menu. You can enjoy private meals on your own veranda if you wish. There is a swimming pool. The lodge offers a laundry service.  

Dining: Meals are eaten at separate tables.  

Children:  Children of all ages are welcome. There are 2 family cottages.   

Health:  This is a low risk malaria area.

Communication:  There is internet access.
