Davisons Camp is located in the private Linkwasha reserve in Hwange National Park.  Visitors to Davisons can enjoy a traditional safari experience in a classic African tented camp.  There are 8 tents and 1 family tent nestled under shady trees. Each has its own private veranda, it lends itself perfectly as a place to sit and absorb the sights, sounds and smells of the wilderness when you are now on an activity. Inside, the tents are spacious and airy with comfy beds, a soft seating area and en-suite bathroom with shower.

The main area houses the spacious lounge complete with large soft sofas and a dining room which leads out onto a large deck, perfect for outdoor dining. The décor is in muted tones befitting a safari camp and it provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. To the front is the open campfire area, a great spot for swapping stories of an evening, star gazing or simply listening to the crackle of the fire as you relax. The refreshing pool and sun loungers look out onto the expansive plains and lend themselves to an afternoon snooze, alternatively you may prefer to spend the time on the upper deck, above the main area, looking down onto the popular waterhole in front of camp.

Being in a private concession within Hwange means you won’t come across other vehicles, but you have the added advantage of being able to go outside the concession too, into the main areas of the park. Walking safaris in Hwange are popular, early morning is the best time, before the heat of the day sets in. If walking is not for you then climb aboard the 4x4 and enjoy morning and evening game drives with your experienced guide, Zimbabwe has some of the best guides in Africa, and the varied landscape of this area makes for diverse species and interesting drives. To enhance your Zimbabwe experience, you could go on a village visit. You will be taken to the village where you can meet and enjoy cultural exchanges with the villagers, you may have the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of the school and meet the headman or headwoman, it’s an interesting and rewarding experience.
