The Cottar's safari tradition began in 1919 and the family continues to provide this unparalleled safari experience to discerning clients from all over the world. Cottar's 1920's Safari Camp is in exquisite hills on a private concession of almost 3,000 hectares bordering the Masai Mara and the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves in Tanzania, giving the feel of a private game park. Activities include game drives, with the annual migration occurring from July to October, and walking safaris, with opportunities for bush dining and sundowners in specially chosen locations.

The camp accommodates guests in 11 authentic white canvas tents comprising 5 doubles, 1 twin, 4 family tents and 1 honeymoon tent. All are luxuriously furnished with safari antiques from the 1920's, giving an atmosphere reminiscent of a past era of romance, adventure and elegance. Each tent has private en-suite dressing room and bathroom, as well as a private veranda. Family tents also have a sitting room.

Activities available include day and night game drives in open-sided vehicles, guided bush walks, river swimming and fishing. Alternatively, guests can relax at the camp, which has 2 mess tents, each with a lounge and dining area. There is a natural rock swimming pool, around which hammocks are arranged. The camp offers spa treatments including massages, manicures and pedicures. There is complimentary Wi-Fi access.

Cottar's also have a private villa near the main camp, accommodating up to 10 guests in 5 en-suite bedrooms. It has a large living room, a lovely viewing deck and 25 metre pool and comes with a staff of 8, and a guide and safari vehicle. Free Wi-Fi access and a good mobile phone signal allow you to keep in touch with the outside world.
