Back on Tsarabanjina there are walking trails leading into the forests and up hills to wonderful views. Walks, with or without a guide, give you the chance to admire the scenery and look for chameleons and birds, such as tropicbirds, fish eagles and flycatchers, the last used in the hotel's logo. You may also come across the tomb of the Sakalava king of the Mitsio islands, a sacred place still venerated by local people today.
