The owners of Colonels Retreat have created a true home from home, located in the quiet Defence Colony neighbourhood in southern Delhi. It is owned by Nandi, the eponymous colonel, and Meena Khanna, and managed by their older son and his wife and remains very much a family business.

Rooms are throughtfully furnished and decorated to provide comforts and mod cons such as TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, tea and coffee maker and en-suite bathroom with solar heated water. Rooms are arranged over several floors, each of which has a small lounge.

The guest house has a dining room, though most meals are served on the lovely rooftop terrace. Food is home cooked and of a very high standard. Meena is a talented cook and her skills have rubbed off on the kitchen staff. Food lovers will relish the chance to take part in one of the cooking lessons that are held on the premises. There are plenty of restaurants in the Defence Colony Market nearby.

There is a metro station a short walk from the guest house to help you get around the city and staff are happy to help you make sightseeing arrangements including organising taxis.
