Chobe Bakwena Lodge

Chobe & Savuti Botswana

This is a wonderful lodge but it is pretty far from the wild. However, I took the short boat ride down to the “four corners” and saw crocs, hippos and elephants and realized how close the wild really is. Also the bridge construction there was truly awesome. My only criticism of the lodge has to do with my traveling solo. I was always given a table alone and it felt a little weird asking the staff to move me when friends invited me to there table. The African experience is so filled with people enjoying one another’s company that this was the only time I felt a little uncomfortable.

A fabulous place to stay with indoor and outdoor showers. Great care was taken to provide my son with his Gluten Free diet. The staff were knowledgeable about diets and care was taken to check labels. The gf. alternatives and especially the freshly baked bread was delicious. It was wonderful being able to get some washing done for us but we were limited to 4 items each ( no underwear or socks ! ). We had a wonderful welcome on our arrival with singing and dancing and cold wet flannels each time we returned from a trip. Free bar on local wines.

Wow. Its good to watch the world go at Chobe Bakwena Lodge. Spirited staff who were so friendly and lovely accommodation. I felt so spoilt, was I dreaming? ! No, this was my reality, I was completely and utterly spoilt and loved every second of my time at Bakwena.

Very friendly staff who performed a traditional Boma evening on our final night inspite of the thunderstorm. The guide was excellent, finding lions and a hyena and very knowledgeable. We felt we could have easily stayed another couple of nights as there were several other things we could do, but alas we only had 2 nights here.
