Chinzombo Camp was the green season base for Norman Carr back in the 1970s and in 2012 work started to develop a brand new luxury camp on this site. It must be going to plan as Chinzombo won 'Best New Camp in Africa' in the 2015 Safari Awards! The camp is set on the banks of the Luangwa River in 60 acres of private land and is a great base from which to explore this game-rich area.
There are 6 spacious villas, all with a large sleeping area, a stylish en-suite bathroom and a deck with a plunge pool. One of the villas is a suite with extra space to accommodate a family or small group. As you relax on your deck you can enjoy views of the river.
A footpath through the trees links the villas with the lounge and dining area, where you will enjoy convivial meals with other guests. Decor has been kept deliberately simple, with the emphasis firmly on comfort and the natural beauty of the surroundings. There is a private viewing platform allowing you to observe wildlife without having to leave camp. For relaxation there is a spa and the camp has a yoga and exercise area. 
Chinzombo Camp is open all year and is just a one hour drive from Mfuwe airport.
