Open:  Cases a Gardenias is open all year.

Location:  Cases a Gardenias is in a inland setting on Montagne Bois Noir on the small island of Rodrigues. The house is in a lovely tropical garden. There are daily flights from Mauritius to Rodrigues.

Rooms:  There are 3 guest rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and private terraces. They are furnished in cheerful, bright colours. All rooms can accommodate an extra bed to become triples if necessary.  The furniture is hand-made. There are plans to build a handful of more rooms.

Activities:  These include kitesurfing, diving, fishing and trips to the beautiful beach at Trou d’Argent and Ile aux Cocos for bird watching. The owners are happy to arrange transfers and car hire for guests and can advise on places to see and suggest activities.

Facilities:   You will taste some gorgeous regional food here, created by Marie-Line, who produces preserves and liquors. She keeps chickens and has bees which produce delicious honey. You can help collect honey and fresh fruit from the garden if you wish. You can enjoy tasty breakfasts in the courtyard or in the pretty dining room. You will have exquisite 4-course dinners, too. The gardens are very attractive and include a fountain and a fishpond. There is a lounge where you can unwind, chat to guests or read a book. Your hosts, Marie-line and Fernand, a Mauritian-Belgian couple, are welcoming and helpful. They speak excellent English.

Dining:   Meals are usually eaten communally.

Children:  Children of all ages are welcome.

Health:  This is a non-malarial area.

Communication:  There is Wi-Fi internet access.
