Staying at this 17th century house, now a charming 18-room hotel, you are in the heart of the San Blas artistic district of Cusco and can immerse yourself in Andean culture. Each room is dedicated to a Quechua textile icon or pallay, each with symbolic significance, and you can learn more about textile iconography from the hotel's pallay display and cards in the lobby. At Casa San Blas you are within walking distance of the Plaza de Armas and the city's historical sights, with staff happy to advise on places of interest you can visit during your stay.

Rooms are cosy and homely, equipped with TV, phone and en-suite bathroom with hot water available round the clock. Locally made textiles add colour and the handmade furniture provides character. Suites are larger including a sitting area and small kitchen, and are on the top floor with views over the rooftops. Hot water bottles are provided for chilly evenings, a thoughtful touch much appreciated by guests.

Start the morning at the breakfast buffet where you can take your pick of the dishes on offer to set you up for a day exploring. On your return to Casa San Blas you can head up to the terrace to sip a cup of coca tea and take in views of the city skyline. This is a residential and working neighbourhood where you can get the feel for local life, and during the day you may hear children at a nearby school - all part of life in San Blas!
