The caribbean area seems very laid back with numerous backpackers so this hotel was probably the one most suited to us in that area. Bungalow accommodation was very good, clean and private. The gardens were nice attracting birds and colourful frogs. The restaurant staff were good and the food was good, however the reception staff were poor and seemed indifferent in their manner.

Great rooms (superior) and basically in a jungle. We were lucky to have great weather after 3 weeks of storms so Cahuita snorkelling was excellent. Unique part of the country, different to everywhere else. Ganja is prevalent!! White sand beaches at Cahutia. If we had more time we would have taken a taxi to the town and walked to these lovely beaches, a short walk from town.

The staff seemed helpful but a bit rigid and distant at times. The room was lovely with a great shower and comfortable beds. The location was great - right off the beach. The food was nice enough but nothing amazing. Overall the place was nice.

Really feel you are in Costa Rica here. Built around and into the edge of the jungle and on the Caribbean coast. Jungle type vegetation and trees in the hotel grounds and around the rooms. Exotic birds, butterflies and frogs naturally in and around the grounds. Howler monkeys can be heard and seen in the trees within the hotel grounds. The rooms are adequate, clean and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. Good restaurant and only a short hop to the local town which should not be missed of the evening. Very buzzy but of course, everything shuts early by our standards.

Fantastic gardens - lots to see. Excellent location close to the beach and rainforest. Wonderful walks in both directions. Polite personnel. extremely clean, coffee provided and a welcome drink with cold towels! Breakfast was varied and delicious and the restaurant was very attractive with lots of carved wood. The room was quite small and it was not possible for all 3 of us to sit outside our room. Shared seating areas didn't look too inviting eg broken hammocks. This was a bit out of kilter with the high standards in the rest of the hotel. We would have liked to have known earlier about the Jaguar Rescue Centre as this was only an hour's walk from the hotel but tours were fully booked when we arrived. They could publicise this better in reception.

When we arrived here we all looked at each other and said this will do very nicely. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves from the sea. It certainly set the bar very high for the remainder of the trip. Sorted out a little problem with the rooms very quickly and efficiently - no drama.

Easy to be critical of this hotel on first impressions. It's very tired in places, with the roof of the restaurant and reception "patched" with corrugated plastic. However, the array of wildlife and the incredible beach across the road more than made up for this. The reception staff helped us arrange a taxi for a day of sightseeing and when our youngest son got stung by a jelly-fish their concern and knowledge was really reassuring.

Lovely room which blended in with the natural environment. We were woken early each morning by the howler monkeys and there were agoutis, frogs and lots of different birds within feet of our lodge. A short walk down the drive takes you to the beautiful caribbean sea.

We loved this accommodation. The wildlife we saw at the complex was amazing, sloths, toucans, hummingbirds to name a few. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our cabin was clean and well presented. The main restaurant was closed but the one at the front of the properly provided a limited menu with basic food.

The hotel was undergoing renovations, and there had been some confusion over our booking. However, the manager sorted it all out very quickly, and we ended with better accommodation than we had booked.
