Overlooking a permanent waterhole in a private concession in the western area of Hwange National Park, Camp Hwange consists of just 8 thatched chalets, so you won't be sharing this safari paradise with many people. Each spacious chalet is both stylish and simply furnished with an en-suite bathroom completing your space. The chalets all overlook the waterhole, allowing you to watch the comings and goings throughout the day from the privacy of your own veranda if you choose.  Mesh windows allow the breezes to flow freely with the assistance of an overhead fan if needed.  

The main lodge has been constructed from natural materials and tastefully decorated in muted tones so that it blends into the landscape as much as possible. The furniture and decor evoke a feeling of a safari of yesteryear, gently immersing you into the wilderness that surrounds you. Solar power provides the lighting and as much as possible limits the impact on the environment. The lounge is filled with comfy and inviting sofas and chairs adjacent to the main dining area which is spacious and open plan. Add to this a well-stocked bar, and you should have pretty much everything you need to enjoy your stay here.

Guiding in Zimbabwe is known to be exceptional and the guiding at Camp Hwange lives up to this, it's an area known for good game too with visitors often seeing lion, elephant, zebra, buffalo, kudu and hippo.  You can experience the area both on foot on a walking safari, or in a gamedrive vehicle.  It is well worth spending some time in one of the hides too where you might get a more up-close view of some of the wildlife, always with your guide on hand.
