Busanga Bush Camp lies in the heart of the Busanga Plains, a vast mosaic of expansive grassy seasonal floodplains that extends to the horizon. It is run by Wilderness Safaris as part of their 'adventure' range of camps and is small but comfortable in a lovely central location on the plains.

The camp, hidden in a well vegetated tree-island of sycamore fig trees, can accommodate eight guests in four en-suite tents. The lounge and bar area is under a shade roof with an uninterrupted view out over the plains; breakfast is often served here to take in the view of herds of lechwe and puku feeding. There is a fire area in front of this lounge room where guests can sit pre and post dinner with the plains surrounding them.

The 4 rooms are built of reed and canvas and offers views over the extensive Busanga Plains. They have en-suite bathrooms enclosed but roofless. Basic toiletries, insect repellent and torches are supplied in each tent.

Dinners served under the stars, or in the dining sheltered area overlooking the Busanga floodplains. The camp facilities include so a well-stocked bar where guests can relax after their game viewing activities.

This area is well known for its range of game, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, cheetah, wild dog and birdlife. This area also provides some of the best lion viewing in the whole of Africa. Guests can enjoy day and night drives and specialist birding drives. Walking is seasonal and safety dependent.

The camp is on the Busanga Plains in the northern part of the Kafue National Park whose floodpains are fed by the perennial Lunga, Lufupa and Kafue Rivers. As the dry season progresses (from May onwards) the floodplains dry up and large herds of puku, lechwe and wildebeest begin to move onto the plains to graze, followed by other plains game ranging from zebra and buffalo to roan and orbi. Predators include resident prides of lion, cheetah and sometimes wild dog.
