A great place to start the trip to southern India. A lot to see in a small area so easy to get to. Right on the edge of the water with lots going on right beside you. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Seagull restaurant nearby excellent but beware size of portions...they are huge! Restaurant in hotel very good as well.

A wonderful start to the holiday. We had a lovely suite overlooking the water which was bigger than out flat at home! Good location for the old city and happily for us was right next door to one of the venues for the biannale that was taking place while we were there. Good pool and food.

Lovey old colonial style hotel and would recommend eating out on the fish grill terrace. The slight downside is that all the rooms face the river which can be quite noisy early in the morning. The hotel acknowledge this by providing earplugs. They are building a new ferry terminal right next to the hotel.
