Bomani Tented Camp is found in the remote south eastern corner of Hwange National Park. As well as having access to the main park, Bomani also has its own 5000 acre private reserve where you can enjoy your exclusive safari experience.
The main lodge looks over the Bomani pan, it is a great place to relax and soak up the sights and sounds of nature. The thatch roof and open sides keep things cool during hot days. For chilly evenings a fireplace is lit in the main area with nearby comfy seating. This is where you will also find the dining area and a well-stocked bar. A wooden deck stretches along the front of the building and leads to the firepit, a great spot for an early breakfast bite before a game drive or for that after dinner drink.
The Bomani camp consists of ten tents and one thatched bungalow. Five of the tents are situated on high wooden platforms with the rest located at ground level, these are the Spurwing suites which overlook the waterhole. Adjacent to the Spurwing suites is the Sable Suite, a double tent for famlies. Each tent has electricity and an en-suite bathroom with hot running water, fan, safe. The tents are stylishly furnished and comfortable. There’s a comfy seating area a writing desk and large wooden beds with crisp white linens. African prints and bright coloured throws add colourful finishing touches.
There are various activities on offer at the camp including game walks and drives around the Bomani pans to visiting the local villages and schools, providing an insight into the daily life of the local people. Game drives take place both on the private concession and in Hwange National Park. There are no fences, allowing the game to wander freely. The most common game to spot are the huge herds elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalos, wildebeest, zebra and sable. Taking part in a pump run, spending the day visiting the 15 boreholes on the borders of the park is a popular activity that takes all day, why not enjoy a picnic lunch near one of the waterholes before taking a gentle gamedrive back to camp?
Bomani takes it's social responsibility seriously together with a strong commitment to conservation. The lodge supports several schools in the local area as well as running a mobile dental clinic each year. The camp has also drilled and installed over 25 new wells for surrounding villages, ensuring they have access to clean water, something we take for granted.
