Etosha National Park Namibia

  • Popular hide in front of the lodge
  • Great location in Ongava Game Reserve adjacent to Etosha.
  • An eco-conscious approach to the environment
  • 340 species of bird recorded on the reserve.

Anderssons at Ongava is in Ongava Game Reserve, adjacent to Etosha National Park. It's a reserve with excellent wildlife populations of its own and is known for having healthy rhino numbers. The region is also home to lions, elephants, oryx, springbok, zebra.

Once a farmstead, the lodge has been completely rebuilt (2019) and renovated to a very high standard. The spacious, attractive main area houses the lounge, dining room and bar, all open plan and open-sided.  It overlooks the waterhole, which is particularly popular in the dry season with a host of wildlife coming down to drink each day, enjoy this view from the comfort of the lounge.  When the rest of the lodge was built, one of the prime considerations was to have minimum impact on the environment.  Sustainable materials were used resulting in a unique look.  The water level hide is the perfect place to do some up-close game viewing and get some great photographs.

There are just nine guest rooms constructed from rocks and other local materials, the unique shape results in a climate-controlled sanctuary for the duration of your stay. Each unit has double or twin beds with air conditioning, a sizeable veranda offering 180-degree views, and an en-suite bathroom with a double basin, shower and separate toilet. To finish it off, there's also an outdoor shower. There is a family unity which has two en-suite bedrooms and the same facilities as the other rooms. The clever use of materials gives the camp an up-cycle feel quite unique and unlike any other lodge you may have stayed in.
