Andersson's Camp is named after the Swedish explorer, Charles Andersson who first discovered Etosha, along with Sir Francis Galton in 1851.  The Ongava Reserve, which is home to Anderssons Camp is adjacent to Etosha, it's a reserve with excellent wildlife populations of its own and is known for having healthy rhino numbers. The region is also home to lions, elephants, oryx, springbok, zebra.

Once a farmstead, the camp has been completely rebuilt (2019) and renovated to a very high standard. The spacious, attractive main area houses the lounge, dining room and bar, all open plan and open sided.  It overlooks the waterhole, which is particularly popular in the dry season with a host of wildlife coming down to drink each day, enjoy this view from the comfort of the lounge.  When the rest of the camp was built, one of the prime considerations was to have minimum impact on the environment.  Sustainable materials were used resulting in a unique look.  The waterlevel hide is the perfect place to do some up-close game viewing and get some great photographs.

There are just nine guest rooms constructed from rocks and other local materials, the unique shape results in a climate controlled sanctuary for the duration of your stay. Each unit has double or twin beds with air conditioning, a sizeable veranda offering 180 degree views, and an en-suite bathroom with double basin, shower and separate toilet. To finish it off, there's also an outdoor shower. There is a family unity which has two en-suite bedrooms and the same facilities as the other rooms. The clever use of materials gives the camp an 'up-cycle' feel quite unique and unlike any other camp you may have stayed in.

Client Rating for Namibia 5/5 from 12 reviews

Lodge the best we stayed in. The staff and food very good. Lacked a bit of the ‘African feel’.
