Open:  Abalone Guest Lodge is open all year.  

Location:  Abalone Guest Lodge is on Siever’s Point, between the beaches and town centre of Hermanus. It is just a 90 minute drive from Cape Town.  

Rooms:  All 12 rooms are spacious, light and high-ceilinged. They have en-suite bathrooms with was basins, toilets, showers, baths, heated towel rails and Africology toiletries. They have balconies or terraces with views of the gardens, mountains or ocean. Room 1 (51.6sqm) is the honeymoon suite, and has twin basins and a double shower. Rooms 2, 3 and 4 (42-43sqm), and room 5 (38.6sqm) are seaview suites. Rooms 6 (32.45sqm) and 7 (34.84sqm) are luxury seaview suites each with a bedroom, bathroom and dressing room. All suites are on the first floor and have balconies. Rooms 8 (36.37sqm) and 9 (33.62sqm) are on the ground floor and face the garden. Room 10 (27.87sqm) is a standard room on the ground floor. Rooms 11 and 12 (both 30.68sqm) are standard rooms on the first floor, and are interconnecting so make good family accommodation. 

Activities:  The emphasis is on the great outdoors. You can go hiking along trails in the hills, go horse riding, play golf, go kayaking, abseiling, fishing, play golf, join a wine tasting tour and go whale watching in season. In Hermanus you can visit art galleries, craft markets and concerts.  

Facilities: The lodge has a treatment room, sauna and gym. There is a comfortable lounge with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the sunny terrace and sea beyond. The lodge has an honesty bar so you can enjoy drinks in the lounge or terrace. The gardens have sunny and shaded areas and there is an infinity pool and sunbathing deck.  

Dining: Breakfast is served between 08:00 and 10:00 in the dining room or on the terrace, at separate tables. The lodge does not serve lunch or dinner but staff can assist with reseravtions at local restaurants. The lodge stocks local beers and wines. 

Children:  Children of all ages are welcome.

Health:  This is not a malarial area.

Communication:  There is free Wi-Fi internet access throughout the lodge.
