Open: Aashiyan Homestay is open to guests from October to April each year. The house was built in 1993 and has been welcoming guests since 2008.
Location: Aashiyan Homestay is in Malviya (Shivalik) in South Delhi, a quiet and well-heeled residential district. The house is in a gated community. There's an ATM, pharmacy and coffee shop within a 5 minute walk. The airport is a 20-45 minute drive away, depending on traffic. There’s a metro station nearby providing transport to the city centre.
Rooms: There are 2 bedrooms, one, the Blue Orchid Room, on the ground floor and the other, the Pink Carnation Room, on the 1st floor (of the 3 storey building). Both have private bathrooms, and are air conditioned and have fans. The downstairs room also has a TV. The décor is simple yet homely, with ethnic textiles complimenting the crisp white bed linen. The rooms are immaculately clean. There’s a smaller room leading off the upstairs bedroom which can be used for children if needed. All bed linens and towels are provided.
Activities: Take the metro into town to go sightseeing and shopping. You can stroll in the park next door to the house, and Kiran and JP will be happy to advise on places to go and things to do during your stay.
Facilities: The ground floor has a spacious lounge with ample seating, a TV, music system and computer. Newspapers are provided every day. Next door is the dining room where breakfast is served and you can enjoy evening meals (served at your request). All rooms are air conditioned. The owners have a small dog, Cuddles, who enjoys having guests to stay! Outside there’s a garden to the front of the property, with a children’s playground. Laundry can be done at a charge and returned within 24 to 36 hours.
Dining: Breakfast is served in the dining room between 08:30 and 10:00 each morning, a choice of cereal, bread, tea, coffee and fruit juice plus eggs cooked to order. You can opt for an Indian breakfast should you wish. Kiran will cook dinners on request and her meals prove very popular with guests. There are restaurants a short walk away.
Children: Children are welcome and families can use the 2 bedrooms and shared bathroom in the second floor.
Health: We recommend malaria prophylactics for travel in India.
Communication: There is a computer and Wi-Fi internet access, free to guests.
Notes: There are stairs and no lift, so this would not be suitable for wheelchair users, though there are not many steps and people of limited mobility would be fine here.

More reviewsA perfect home stay in a great position. Kiran was a great hostess, a mine of local information and extremely friendly. It really felt like a home from home and we enjoyed our stay immensely. The food was great too!
