'A Beach Symphony' manages effortlessly to combine peace, tranquillity, good service and privacy in a stunning beach location, in an out of the way spot of coastline. Marari beach is just over an hour south of Cochin and less than two hours drive from the airport.

The four fisherman's cottages have been beautifully finished. The Keralan architecture blends well with contemporary European touches (the owners are from Belgium) and bright and inviting colours. The cottages are all individually decorated with rich dark wood furniture contrasting with white and brightly coloured walls and colourful textiles. The spacious private veranda has hammocks and a day bed, it's a lovely shady spot to spend some time reading a book as the sea breezes blow over you. The veranda also accommodates a private dining area where you can enjoy your meals. One of the villas has its own private plunge pool for refreshing dips. Throughout your stay the villa can be your sanctuary, you can stay here all day if you wish, it's your own private hideaway.

Hidden behind large wooden doors, you walk through to the secluded main pool area. Lush green grass and comfy sun loungers and umbrellas surround the pool, it's a lovely private area that lends itself to relaxation.

Meal times are a wonderful experience, it's butler service and non-intrusive. Deliciously prepared meals are served on your own private veranda. You don't have to dress up for dinner, and you can enjoy eating at your own pace. An alternative location would be a romantic candle-lit dinner on the beach garden lawn. This is standard at A Beach Symphony where such added extra touches are all part of the service.

Most people come here to enjoy the relaxed pace of life and the beautiful scenery, but should you ever want to step outside this idyllic beach location there are several opportunities. You can borrow bicycles for short or long exploration trips of the area or, if you'd rather, your hosts can organise a tour in an auto-rickshaw and you can visit some of the local temples and churches or perhaps see the fisherman landing their daily catch. For some local colour you can visit the market at Cherthala. There is plenty to do to fill your days - including indulging in some superb Ayurvedic massages.>
