Somalisa Acacia is part of the original Somalisa Camp, a long time favourite in Hwange National Park, which was redeveloped in 2016 and dviided into the new Somalisa Camp and Somalisa Acacia. Both are now stunning examples of contemporary style with a distinct African twist.
Somalisa Acacia is the smaller of the two with just four tents. Two of these which sleep two people and the other two are perfect for families with two bedrooms and two bathrooms each. This scale ensures an intimate safari accompanied by excellent Zimbabwean hospitality.
Your creature comforts are all catered for, down to a wood-burning glass stove in each tent to keep away the chills in the winter evenings and there's a hammock out on the spacious private deck, we can't think of a nicer place to spend time soaking up the atmosphere of the camp. There is a small swimming pool in the main area if you fancy a cooling dip or you can relax and mingle with other guests in the soft, comfy sofas and chairs of the lounge.
One of the highlights at Somalisa Acacia is the elephant pool to the fore of the camp. The elephants prefer to drink from this clean, clear water rather than the waterhole where they take their wallowing mud baths. You can get fairly close to them and observe interesting family dynamics and excellent photos are virtually guaranteed. Being in a private concession of Hwange National Park also means a more exclusive safari, away from other vehicles but, at the same time, if the animal sightings are good in the public areas of the park, the guides can take you there too. If you prefer, you may opt for a walking safari with one of the extremely knowledgeable and experienced guides.

0"One of our favourite places ever. Very well thought out accommodation and food was excellent. With a water hole adjacent you really didn't have to leave the camp. Fantastic guide with lion cubs thrown in as well - what else do you need? "
