From its hilltop setting, Bumi Hills has views that are second to none. Sunsets over Lake Kariba are something else, and this is the perfect place from which to enjoy them.
There are 20 rooms in total, 10 standard and 10 premium. All rooms are en-suite with a fan, air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, a minibar, safe and hairdryer. The standard rooms are set behind the premium ones and have partial lake views. They are somewhat smaller but still very comfortable. The sliding glass doors lead out to the small private patio and gardens beyond. The larger premium rooms have private balconies and all enjoy seemingly never-ending lake views.
The main area houses the dining room, bar and lounge. The dining room has views over the lake, perfect for spotting game grazing by the lakeshore as you dine at separate tables. The food is a delicious fusion of continental cuisine with an African twist, served up with a generous helping of Zimbabwean hospitality. If you want to relax between activities, the infinity pool would be a good place, it too enjoys magnificent views. Alternatively you might like to enjoy a spa treatment at the Kukondwa spa. The lounge offers ample opportunity to mingle with other guests if you would like. The decor is warm with a palette of natural colours providing a relaxing atmosphere. There is also a games room complete with pool table for all to enjoy.
Activities at Bumi focus on their private area which lies just outside Matusadona National Park, to the west. Here you can partake in game drives and walking safaris seeking out 4 of the Big 5 that make this area their home. There are also ample birding opportunities with over 300 species recorded in the area. The water activities offer more variation on the safari theme in the form of a sunset cruise on the lake or a fishing trip with your experience guide. A few days at Bumi is food for the soul!
