This is a small tented camp with just four large rooms situated on a palm island in the heart of the game rich Busanga Plains in Kafue National Park.
This is a wetland area which are accessible only by 4WD vehicles open between June to October. This is the only camp in the area which is independantly owned. The safari tents are large with mossie nets, ensuite, open air bathrooms with flush loos and bucket showers. The main dining and lounge area is on a raised deck providing views across the open plains and to a fig tree and palm island opposite the camp.
The area is home to big herds of buffalo (up to 1000 animals at times), wildebeest, zebra, roan antelope and red lechwe, followed by their predators, plenty of lion and several cheetah.
Open: July to October (Specific dates each year - please ask for details).
Location: Deep in the Kafue National Park in the remote Busanga Plains.
Rooms: 4 large tents with en-suite open air bathrooms.
Activities: Game drives, bush walks, boat trips and fishing.
Facilities: The central boma area is where guests can relax looking out of the plains. There is a cosy fire fit for the evenings.
Dining: Meals are served communally in the boma.
Children: The camp accepts children 9 years of age and over. As the camp is unfenced, children need to be supervised at all times.
Health: This is a malarial area.
Communication: There is very limited mobile reception, no direct phone or fax and no internet.
