Jinja is located in southeaster Uganda about an hours drive from Kampala and Entebbe. It is the second largest city in Uganda, bit its main attraction for visitors is that it is the site of the source of the River Nile and can be visited on a day trip from either Kampala or Entebbe. The city lies on the shores of Lake Victoria.
Many activities are available here including boat cruises, waterskiing, white water rafting, golf and horse riding. There are numerous restaurants and cafes catering for visitors.

Language: English is the official language, with Luganda and Swahili also widely spoken.
Visas are required for UK citizens which can be purchased on arrival at the airport. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months.
No compulsary vaccinations but several are recommended and you should take malaria prophylactics.
