Selous Impala Camp holiday reviews

"Selous Impala camp exceeded all expectations and we very much wished we had spent the full week here. As we arrived, Barbara and some of the staff were there with a delicious drink to greet us. We then had a really excellent lunch before going on a boat safari in the afternoon. At the end of this drive we were taken to a secluded spot where the staff had arranged for us to enjoy a glass of champagne whilst watching the sun set!! Complete heaven! This lodge is sited by the river and is visited by giraffes, elephants, monkeys and hippos. The tents are extremely luxurious and very comfortable. There is an electric power point in each tent for charging cameras, batteries etc but hairdryers cannot be used. The only drawback is that there is no reception for mobile phones, but we did use Barbara's email. We had a really excellent guide (Mpogo) who took us on wonderful drives and boat safaris. He was extremely knowledgeable on all birds and animals and thanks to him we saw two hippos fighting and even managed to see a leopard which is a huge achievement. The Land Rover was extremely comfortable even at speed. At night we ate a delicious four course dinner by candlelight and the Masai escorted us to and from our tents. There was a beautiful chlorinated pool with comfortable loungers. There was so much animal and bird life around that if we had had longer, we would have loved to have spent an afternoon by the pool just enjoying the sights and sounds around our tents."
