Maramboi Tented Camp is situated in a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Manyara, just 18 km from Tarangire National Park. It is set in a 25,000 hectare concession area run by the local Maasai community.
The spacious tents are on raised decks spaced out each side of the main lounge area, each with en-suite facilities and a private verandah. There are either twin or king size beds with lighting provided by solar power. The bar and dining area has views across to the Manyara shore and the bush beyond. There is a swimming pool at the end of a viewing deck overlooking the plains.
Activities here include game drives, guided walking safaris, cultural interaction with Maasai and Datoga tribes, sundowners, bush breakfasts, and birdwatching (there are more than 300 species in the area). There is a wildlife reference library and wake up calls in the morning with tea or coffee.
Open: Maramboi Tented Camp is open all year.
Location: Maramboi Tented Camp is near Lake Manyara with impressive views of the lake, floodplains, Rift Valley and Ngorongoro highlands. It is just a 20 minute drive from Tarangire National Park. It is on a private concession of 25,000 hectares. It is a 2-hour drive from Arusha.
Rooms: There are 30 spacious tents set on wooden decks, including 2 tents with interconnecting rooms, ideal for families. They all have en-suite bathrooms and private verandas, looking out over the grasslands. Tents are spaced well apart.
Activities: The camp provides game drives in Tarangire National Park, bird watching trips to Lake Manyara and village visits. You can have bush sundowners on the shores of Lake Manyara. At the camp you can enjoy a swim in the pool and sunbathe on the deck.
Facilities: There is a central mess tent where breakfast and lunch are served. Pre-dinner snacks and dinner are usually eaten in the open. The camp has a comfy lounge and a small library. There is a swimming pool.
Dining: Meals are taken at individual tables.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
Health: This is a malarial area.

0"Very comfortable tent on stilts. Solar energy used for hot water and lighting. Escourted by 'security' at night. Good quality food formally served and buffet breakfast. Great packed lunch, too. Great views of lake."
