A private ranch on conservancy land at Lake Manyara with a wide range of activities including day and night drives, walks and horse riding. The people and wildlife live peacefully together here to provide a valuable section of conservation land. Manyara Ranch is a joint project of the Maasai communities, Tanzania Land Conservation Trust and Africa Wildlife Foundation. It protects natural wildlife migraiton corridors between Lake Natron, Lake Manyara, Tarangire and the Maasailands.
There are six large en-suite tented rooms all with flush toilets, hot and cold running water. There is generator and invertor power and a central charging area for cameras. There is a dining tent with indoor and outdoor dining space.
There are a huge range of activities on offer here including day and night drives, guided bush walks, Maasai cultural visits, horse riding, local school visit, fly camping, visit to cattle ranch, bush meals, sundowners, hides, meet a traditional healer.
There is plenty of wildlife around the ranch including frequent visits from elephant, giraffe and zebra.
"Very close to wildlife, especially lions. We soon got part of the 'plot' because the enthusiastic manager couple took us everywhere on foot, by jeep day and night. Personal atmosphere, very sympathetic staff. Fantastic food."
