Breezes Beach Club

Zanzibar & the Coast

Rating: Mid-range

Breezes Beach Club overview

Breezes Beach Club is on a pristine, peaceful beach on the east coast of Zanzibar. It is a family-owned and run hotel that offers warm, personalised service and exquisite cuisine, which makes it perfect for unwinding after a busy safari. The tropical gardens are wonderfully peaceful and there is a large swimming pool ideal for a cooling dip. There is a selection of al fresco restaurants and bars, a spa, marine activities centre and dive centre on site, though none of these compromises the resort's relaxed atmosphere.

Guest rooms are scattered around the tropical garden. They are tastefully decorated in muted ivory tones, with cotton throws, teak wood finishes and Zanzibari carvings. Each has a terrace or balcony, the perfect place for a sundowner. The resort has 4 restaurants offering an extensive range of cuisines and styles of food including the best seafood, tropical fruits and spices that the island has to offer. There are several bars where guests can socialise over a refreshing drink.

Jean and John, Essex (10/01/2016)

"A nice hotel with friendly staff and great food. One of the positive things was the fact that we could always get into the sea, even at low tide albeit if only for a paddle."

Mrs. Julia Crisp (20/08/2014)
"With the natural backdrop of white sands and blue skies there is not too much to go wrong. Very helpful staff and a great place to relax. The spa center was the cherry on the top. "
Mrs. Anne White (20/08/2014)
"Breezes was luxury after Safari but the bed was a bit harder! The staff were also very warm and helpful and the hotel was run with efficiency. It\'s layout means that despite a reasonable number of guests it rarely felt overcrowded anywhere. The beach and white sand was fantastic with few beach boys and pedlars which meant no hassle. Despite being the \'spice island\' the food was at times rather bland but I understand the need to cater for larger diversity of tastes. The frangipani spa was lovely and an oasis of calm. We indulged in several treatments and the staff were really welcoming and caring."
Mrs. Claire Morris (11/04/2014)
"This was the island paridise my daughter was wishing for, her face when we arrived was hilarious, her jaw literally hit the floor. Built a good friendship with our waiter Ntwana, had a few days relaxing by the pool, snorkelling in the indian ocean was like being in Finding nemo, ,tried some new water sports and had a wonderful stay."
Georgina Jaffee (15/12/2011)
"Very very good hotel...excellent food but very little attention and involvement in the enviroment. We are divers and the hotel allows people to forage on the beackes in front of the hote; the dive Centre has asked thehotel to get involved in community education etc but to no avail...many other problems with the environment,,,l and there is very little sensitivity or eco- eduation generally."
