Personally run by the Notten Family, this is one of the original camps in the Sabi Sand Reserve in Greater Kruger. It is a small luxury camp with a lovely atmosphere and in a really superb wildlife spot.
There are eight open plan bedrooms with en-suite bathroom all with both indoor and outdoor showers. The rooms have large windows and sliding screen doors lead out onto your private wooden deck with lovely views over the bush. The bush atmosphere is added to by the fact that there is no electric lighting, but rather paraffin lamps and candles.
There is a swimming pool, and the cosy lounge and dining area also has a deck so you can always enjoy the link with the bush wherever you are in camp. Enjoy delicious home-cooked food in between your wildlife viewing activities, and you can even treat yourself to a massage in the spa if you need any encouragement to relax. You won’t!
A typical day here starts with an early wake up call (5.30) and watch the sun rise with a cup of tea or coffee. Then enjoy a game drive in an open 4WD vehicle with an experienced guide and a local Shangaan tracker. A morning snack and coffee is provided in the bush then back to the lodge for a hearty cooked 'brunch' on the deck. Then either take a game walk with a ranger or relax by the pool. After high tea you’ll take a late game drive. As the sun starts to set you stop for a drink and watch the stars come out. Back at the lodge, a full dinner is served, again a huge variety of sumptuous, home cooked food, you certainly won't be hungry or lose weight staying at Nottens!

0"Almost too "Westernised" to be a bush camp but the warthogs and antelope wandering through, and the roaring fires in the dining room at night were wonderful"
