Ngala Tented Camp is an intimate camp of just six spacious tented suites set on the banks of the Timbavati River in the private Ngala Game Reserve. The accommodation is comfortable and each tent features an ensuite bathroom and outdoor shower. Tents are set on raised platforms and have secluded wooden decks. General facilities include a small pool and game viewing decks, where sundowners can be enjoyed whilst looking out over the river. Guests can meet and chat over the day's activites in the central lounge and dining areas overlooking the riverbed. The cuisine here is Pan African, blending traditional and ethnic cooking methods and using flavoursome local ingredients.
Activities include twice-daily game drives and guided bushwalks, providing the opportunity to see the diverse wildlife abundant in this game rich area, including The Big 5. In addition the camp has a small hide near a waterhole allowing guests to view game at close quarters without even venturing outside the camp. There is a specially designed and equipped vehicle for photographic safaris, offered subject to availability.
Ngala was the first Private Game Reserve to be incorporated into the Kruger National Park and was set up as a conservation initiative.
