Isandlwana Lodge is a small lodge with just 12 guest rooms, located by the site of the famous Ango-Zulu battle of 1879. The lodge can arrange battlefield tours to both Isandlwana and Rorke\'s Drift led by knowledgeable local guides. Visits to local Zulu villages, homesteads and schools can also be organised, giving an insight into the history, traditions and current way of life of the Zulu people. KwaZulu Natal is also a great game viewing area and guests can visit local reserves such as Hluhluwe-Umfolozi, good for sightings of the Big Five, and Mhkuse Falls, an excellent bird watching area. Guided horse riding trails are also a popular way to explore this beautiful region.
After a busy day guests can relax back at the lodge, enjoying a swim in the pool, excellent food, or relaxing in the library or lounge. The guest rooms are decorated in a blend of tradtional and modern styles and all have ensuite bathrooms. They also have a private balcony with views of Isandlwana plain and the mountains beyond.
"Good accommodation with a very nice room + a small swimming pool area. The Managaress was very efficient and friendly and oversaw everything! The bar staff and waiters/waitresses were hard-working and very sweet."
