Casa Andina Private Collection Puno

Cusco & the Andes

Rating: Mid-range

Casa Andina Private Collection Puno overview

Casa Andina Private Collection - Puno enjoys a wonderful location on the shores of Lake Titicaca, some 3,800 metres above sea level. The hotel has been built using local materials including wood, stone and clay tiles. The centre of Puno is just a 5 minute taxi ride and the nearest airport, Juliaca, is only 45 minutes away.

The 46 spacious guest bedrooms feature private bathroom, TV, telephone, hairdryer, safe deposit box and coffee making facilities. Many look out over Lake Titicaca while others have mountain views. Oxygen is available in every room.

The hotel restaurant has ceiling to floor windows with stunning views out over the lake. Sunsets are spectacular views from here. The two wood burning stoves add to the cozy atmosphere. It has an excellent reputation for serving regional gourmet cuisine, including local lake fish. A generous breakfast buffet, including freshly cooked omlettes, is served each morning.

Other facities include a lounge bar, free computer and internet access, currency exchange and jewellery shop. There is a large, sunny terrace and the extensive gardens offer great views of the lake and mountains. The hotel also has its own pier just a few metres from the main building. .

Mr. Alan Pestell (29/10/2017)

"A good location looking out onto Lake Titicaca. The bedroom allocated looked out onto a small strip of grass and a road. We upgraded to an identical room overlooking the lake for $50. Front desk staff professional. The restaurant looked out to the lake and the food and service were excellent. Boardwalk down to the lake was excellent for bird (and Guinea pig!) watching."

Ms Patricia Nightingale
"Water in the rooms was 10 whereas in the previous Casa Andina it was 5. Sharp practice which doesn't look good. Good starters for dinner - that's all we had so can't comment on rest of menu."
Mrs. Susan Storer
"Very nice hotel ideally situated."
Mrs. Sheila Griffiths
"Just an overnight stay here before travelling to Suasi Island. Room was fine, breakfast was good. There was a message waiting at reception on arrival to say that we were being picked up at 6:20am (for Suasi Island I thought). Fortunately our guide who had brought us to the hotel read the message properly and spotted that the pick-up was for a transfer to Bolivia. He then spent a good 20 minutes on the phone sorting it all out. Turned out that the hotel had made the error and the message was for someone of a similar name staying at the hotel. Thank you to the guide for sorting it all out as it was certainly very confusing at the time."
Mrs Annette Loehr Happe
"Good hotel at the shore of Lake Titicaca. Nice staff, good room with view on the garden. We benefited from the own landing stage to leave by boat the next morning :)"
