Located on a ridge about a thousand feet above the Pokhara valley with fabulous views of the Annapurna mountains, Tiger Mountain is a luxurious retreat and an ideal base to relax and explore the beautiful surroundings of the lodge's gardens and the countryside beyond. The lodge is owned and run by pioneers of responsible and sustainable tourism in Nepal.
A total of 19 rooms are housed in stone bungalows spread through spacious grounds and cascading down the hillside. Each light and spacious room is well furnished with luxurious touches such as hand-knotted Tibetan wool,carpets and original watercolour paintings. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and heaters for chilly nights, and each has a private terrace where you can sit out and enjoy the superb mountain and valley views.
At the top of the ridge, the main lodge building includes a comfy seating area, bar and cosy fireplace. Guests are welcome to relax in Colonel Jimmy's Library, which has a wide range of Himalayan mountaineering literature and photographs. There is a separate dining room plus outdoor terraces where meals can be enjoyed in the open air. Tiger Mountain offers a full English breakfast, a Nepali buffet lunch and a choice of European and Nepali dishes for dinner. The lodge has an organic garden growing herbs and salad ingredients while fruit and vegetables are bought in the village.
The gardens are a haven for wildlife, especially butterflies. There is plenty of space for relaxing and enjoying a quiet drink savouring the peaceful atmosphere. The swimming pool offers unparalleled mountain views. Guests can enjoy pampering spa therapies in the privacy of their own rooms while yoga and meditation sessions are also available.
The lodge has its own naturalist guides, and activities on offer including half and full day guided walks, bird watching trips, fishing, golf, visits to nearby villages and paragliding for the more adventurous guests. This is also a good base from which to visit Pokhara, which is just a half hour's drive away.

Location: Tiger Mountain is set some 300 metres above the Pokhara Valley against a backdrop of the Himalayas. The town of Pokhara is just 30 minutes drive away.
Rooms: Accommodation is in 19 stone-built cottage rooms with slate roofs, parquet floors, handmade wooden furniture, Tibetan rugs and original artwork. They have large windows, double doors and spacious verandas to make the most of the wonderful views. Each cottage has a private bathroom.
Activities: Guided walks and village visits, day hikes, paragliding, golf, tennis, bird watching and fishing are all available. Guests can also visit shops and museums in Pokhara or opt to relax in and around the lodge, maybe enjoying spa treatments or a swim in the pool.
Facilities: The lodge has lovely gardens. The main lodge has an inviting lounge with a log fire, a library with a collection of Himalayan mountaineering literature belonging to the late Colonel J. O. M. Roberts. There is a well-stocked bar. There is a candle-lit terrace for pre-dinner drinks. The spa offers a range of therapies and massages. Yoga sessions and meditation can be arranged. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool.
Dining: Meals are taken at individual tables.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
Health: Pokhara is not a malarial area.
Communication: There is WiFi internet access in guest rooms and in the library, to be paid for locally.
Notes: Due to the nature of the accommodation (there are lots of steps) and activities, Tiger Mountain is not suited to people with limited mobility.
