Lumbini Garden Hotel overview

Located opposite the entrance to World Heritage site of Lumbini, site of the birhplace of Lord Buddha, Lumbini Garden Hotel provides comfortable accommodation for anyone exploring the ancient site, and is a good stop to break the journey between India and Nepal.

Designed to accommodate Buddhist pilgrims, the 72 rooms all feature modern facilities such as air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms, set in peaceful gardens. The restaurant serves meals from a mixture of different cultures, including Nepalese, India, Chinese and Thai food.


Open:  Lumbini Garden Hotel is open all year.  

Location:  Lumbini Garden Hotel is located in the city centre, opposite the entrance of Lumbini Sacred Garden, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Gautam Buddha airport is just 18kms from the hotel.   

Rooms:  There are 72 air conditioned rooms, including 6 Japanese-style rooms and 2 suites. All have TV, direct dial phone and en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water.  

Activities:  Visiting Lumbini Sacred Garden, Buddha's birthplace and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hotel can arrange a variety of trips and excursions in the local area.

Facilities:  The restaurant serves Nepali, Chinese, Indian and continental cuisines. There is a separate bar where guests can enjoy a relaxing drink. There is a large garden. The hotel offers a currency exchange, safe and laundry service. The reception is staffed 24 hours a day.  

Dining:  Meals are taken at individual tables.

Children:  Children of all ages are welcome.

Health: The Terai region has a high risk of malaria, so you might want to consider malaria prophylactics for a visit to Lumbini.

Communication:  There is Wi-Fi internet access throughout the hotel.
