Kantipur Temple House is a 42-room hotel built in a traditional Newari style, preserving local architecture and craftsmanship. It is in the heart of Kathmandu, a short walk from shops and restaurants of the Thamel district, and within walking distances of Kathmandu's beautiful Durbar Square. As such it is an ideal place to base yourself to explore this vibrant city.
The hotel has walled gardens and a rooftop terrace overlooking the city and the hills beyond. It is a showcase of environmental and social responsibility, promoting energy and water saving technology, recycling and supporting the local community. Whilst simply done, the rooms are very comfortable. They all have en-suite bathrooms with shower. The restaurant offers really excellent cuisine, both Nepali and other styles, and much of the produce comes from local growers.
Kantipur is welcoming, comfortable, good value and eco-friendly. We highly recommend it.
A really varied family adventure in Nepal - sightseeing, trekking, whitewater rafting and wildlife viewing.
Culture, fabulous mountain scenery, plus thrilling rafting and wildlife viewing make this a superb Nepal holiday.
The varied wildlife of Nepal from Koshi Tappu in the east, via Chitwan to Bardia in the west.
Visit 3 of Nepal's top bird watching locations to see some of the country's 800 species of birds on this 10-day holiday.
This inspiring hotel backs 'Clean Energy Nepal' through many projects such as biogas to discourage deforestation, plus it maintains a private forest & organic farm. Water-saving and energy-saving are emphasised strongly here, and since waste is not well managed in Nepal, it is kept to an absolute minimum in Kantipur. And this is just some of their initiatives.
