Hansa is Namibia's oldest hotel and has been welcoming guests since 1905. Its name is well known and respected in Swakopmund and beyond. The rooms and suites, 58 in all, provide comfortable and thoughtfully designed accommodation. TV, radio, internet access and direct dial telephone come as standard, as does the underfloor heating. All rooms are en-suite with either a bath or shower.
Swakopmund, known as the adventure capital of Namibia, offers all manner of activities on land and water. The dunes provide great scope for sand boarding and quad biking, while boat trips let you get close to Cape fur seals and pelicans. The town centre lends itself to exploring on foot, with many interesting historical buildings, museums and shops, and there are beaches within walking distance where you can pass lazy hours.
Breakfast and dinner are served in the main restaurant, the latter featuring local seafood and game complimented by wine, and lunch is usually taken on the terrarce overlooking the garden. When you want to relax after a day's adventuring or sightseeing, the bar is the perfect place, and you'll also have the chance to meet fellow travellers. The open fire is lit on chilly evenings, making it feel even more cosy.
