Desert Quiver Camp makes a great base for exploring the dramatic dunes and canyons of Sossusvlei, the stark beauty of the deadvlei and flora and fauna of the Naukluft. Guided walks, hikes and drives, scenic flights and bush dinners can all be arranged through the Adventure Centre at nearby Sossusvlei Lodge, so your days can be as busy as you like.
The camp provides well furnished self-catering accommodation. Each chalet has a twin bedroom with a sofa bed that can sleep up to 2 children under 12. There's an en-suite bathroom, small fridge where yo can prepare and eat meals, and a shaded patio with a barbecue for outdoor cooking and dining. Interiors are cooled be ceiling fans. Provisions can be ordered at reception for delivery or bought in the service station a short drive away. If you fancy a break from catering, head over to Sossusvlei Lodge where you can dine at the restaurant. The camp has a bar where you can chat to fellow guests and watch sporting events on the wide screen TV. The outdoor pool offers welcome relief from the heat, and there are loungers where you can relax. From all parts of the camp you can enjoy views of Elm Dune and the desert landscapes.

Location: The camp is in a private reserve 5kms from the Sesreim Gate to Namib-Naukluft Park and near the famous dunes of Sossusvlei.
Rooms: There are 24 chalets, each with an en-suite twin bedroom with space for clothes and luggage, a small kitchen with a 2 plate hob, fridge, washing up area and bench, and a shaded patio with a barbecue. All bedrooms have a sofa bed that can sleep up to 2 children under the age of 12. Bedding and towels are included. Every chalet has a safe.
Activities: A range of activities is offered at Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre. These include guided drives and walks, light plane and helicopter flights, hot air balloon rides, excursion to Sesriem Canyon, and bush dinners.
Facilities: There is a bar with plenty of seating, firepits, a big screen TV, open from 14:00 till 22:00 each day. Soft drinks can be bought a reception from 08:30 each morning. There are 2 bomas for al fresco dining for groups. The lodge has a large outdoor swimming pool and deck with loungers. Pool towels can be obtained from reception. Kitchen utensils are available at reception on payment of a N$300 deposit, which is refunded on return of the items. Provisions can be bought the Sosssus Oasis Service Station or ordered at reception for delivery. Firewood and firelighters are available at reception.
Dining: This is a self-catering lodge though meals you can choose to dine at Sossusvlei Lodge nearby.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome. Children must be kept under supervision at all times.
Health: This is a malarial area.
Communication: There is Wi-Fi internet access. Notes: There are 2 wheelchair friendly chalets with no steps, large showers and handles.
