Your first home is lovely Lakaz Chamarel in the southwest of the island. The Mauritian owners will welcome you, happy to share this beautiful spot with you and to introduce you to the delights on inland Mauritius.
In this restful valley setting you will feel yourself start to unwind and cast off the cares of everyday life. You can bask in the sun and go for cooling swims in your preferred pool - there are 2 to choose from. Further relaxation comes in the form of yoga sessions and massages at the spa. If you've out exploring the natural beauty of the Black River Gorges National Park you'll have worked up an appetite. You're in the right place! The food here is great.
The beach beckons and you'll be taken across the island to the southeast coast to Le Preskil Beach Resort. With the ocean on one side and a natural lagoon on the island, this is a picturesque location. It's a scene to take your breath away.
You can be as active or not, as you wish. There's no pressure to do more than laze on the beach, go for a stroll in the grounds and enjoy a cocktail at the bar. Should you feel more active there is a wealth of activities on offer including all manner of water sports and excursions. For a special treat you can join the full day catamaran cruise to the Ile aux Cerfs, famous for its sandy beaches considered by many to the be some of the most beautiful in the world.

Flight time: Direct flights from London are operated by British Airways, Air Mauritius and Virgin (seasonally). Flying time just under 12 hours. Links with Air Mauritius, Kenya Airways or South African Airways to the mainland African continent are possible.
Language: Official language is English. Most widely spoken is Mauritian Creole which has close ties to French. French is also widely spoken.
Visas: Not required by UK passport holders.
Health: Malaria free zone and no compulsary vaccinations (except Yellow Fever if arriving from an infected country).
