Setam Lodge is the closest hotel to the entrance of Ranomafana National Park. It is set on a hillside surrounded by lush hills overlooking a river. You'll be in the ideal spot to explore the park. Guides from the lodge conduct nature and wildlife walks and hikes and, if you're lucky, you may catch sight of the rare golden bamboo lemur and the greater bamboo lemur.
As you enjoy the freshly-cooked food in the lodge's dining room you can take in the views of the rainforest through the large windows. There's a bar, too, and a terrace with sunny and shaded areas where the continental breakfast is usually served.
The comfortable chalet-style rooms feature en-suite shower rooms. Pastel-hued walls, tiled floors and pine ceilings give a pleasant, crisp feel to the rooms. Each has a stone veranda where you can rest, while admiring the views down into the valley.

"This is one of the better known and more expensive hotels in Ranomafana - though still not a bad price. I found the staff friendly and the food to be great (their continental breakfast offered a typical Malagasy type of banana loaf steamed in a banana leaf). The rooms are quite spartan. Having said that, the beds are comfy enough, it was clean there was always hot water and the view over the park is lovely."
