Le Paradisier is set above the southern beach at Ifaty. The twenty en-suite stone and thatch rooms all face Ifaty Lagoon. They are simply but tastefully styled, and have mozzy nets over the beds and standing fans to keep the air cool. Outside you'll have your own lounger and are just a few steps from the beach. There is a great infinity pool, which is particularly useful at low tide when the water in the lagoon goes out quite a way.
The lodge has mountain bikes and snorkelling equipment, but other activities are also available near here such as canoe rider, diving, horse riding, botanical trails through the spiny forest, bird watching and whale watching at the right time of year. Raniela Nature Reserve is not far away and the hotel can arrange an excursion here for you.
The hotel has a good restaurant offering a mix of French, Italian and Malagasy cuisine, which you'll eat enjoying ocean views through the huge windows. There's a lounge and a pleasant terrace, ideal for quiet relaxation. The hotel has decent eco-credentials, using 100% solar power and also having a school for over 100 students.
"Being away from the main Ifaty village of Mangily, Paradisier is private and quiet - perhaps too quiet for some, and there's nowhere in walking distance if you fancy a change of scene. It ticks the box for a good, yet not too expensive coastal spot to relax at the end of a Malagsy adventure, and there are lots of activities you can do from here if you prefer more activity."
