L'Artisan has been designed in the form of a local village, with rooms and bungalows built in traditional styles arranged within a walled enclosure. It's in Ambositra, a town known as a centre for its woodwork and there are fine examples of hand crafted items and furniture throughout the hotel. This is a good place to break the journey between Ranomafana and Antsirabe.
There are 22 guest units in total, made up of 12 spacious rooms and 10 slightly smaller bungalows. All are self-contained with bedrooms and private bathrooms, and have fans to keep them cool. They have attractive parquet floors. The hotel has a good restaurant which serves traditional Malagasy food as well as international favourites such as pizza. You can also get some delicious and refreshing fruit juices. This is a very peaceful place to stay and, with craft shops within a short walk, it's a good spot to pick up some gifts and souvenirs. The hotel stages occasional local music and dance performances in the courtyard.

0"Loved the marquetry eg chair backs in the restaurant, also carved ends to the curtain rails. Room a bit dark but right next to the modem so only hotel with good wifi!"
