IC Hotel overview
Island Continent Hotel, also known as IC Hotel, and Gassy Country Hotel, are different wings of this attractive hotel on the outskirts of Antananarivo, just a five minute drive from the airport. The hotels are built in the traditional style of the Madagascar highlands and interiors are decorated in Malagasy style.
The rooms are en-suite and have a attractive wooden furniture and floors. All have verandas where you can sit and admire views of the nearby village and surrounding countryside. Inside they are equipped with a TV, free Wi-Fi and a minibar. The hotels share the same facilities which include an outdoor swimming pool, a pretty restaurant with large picture windows where you can sample local Malagasy cuisine as well as continental fare. There's also a bar. Hotel staff can arrange a variety of activities and local excursions, including trips to local markets, parks and guided hikes in the countryside around the hotel.

"We only stayed one night and arrived early hours of the morning, but service was good and the room was comfortable."

"It was actually called Gassy country hotel rather than IC so this was confusing!
Welcoming drink but hotel staff not very friendly but that might have seemed like that to me because we were tired and disoriented after travel. Met Theo from IC so were given full details of tour.
The hot water wouldn't work when we tried to use it - the member of staff got it working when we complained by going into other rooms and turning on taps but when we came to have our shower it had gone again.
Live music - in fact our own personal concert as first in restaurant!"

"Lovely rooms but freezing cold, no heating and I got food poisoning both times I ate here!"

"Very good location, only 5 mins from the airport. But down a street that looks like a slum - which isn't very inviting (though nothing to worry about in the end). Owned by IC Tours, and an excellent place for an initial night - and day rooms at the end, although rather basic. Reasonable food. Free WiFi, but cash only (Ariary or Euros)."
"The IC Hotel is a simple but clean and comfy small hotel. The staff are friendly and for a one night stay near the airport it's a good choice. Its proximity to the airport can also come in very handy if Air Madagascar decide to change flight times at the last minute!"
